AKIPRESS.COM - The National Horse Games Festival will be held on 25 July on the shore of Tulpar Kol Lake opposite the base camp of Lenin Peak in Alay Mountains.
The event is organized by “BAI ALAI” Small Business and Income Creation Program in Alai and Chon Alai districts financed by the Government of Switzerland with the purpose to develop and promote tourism in the districts.
The National Horse Games Festival is a show that celebrates many vibrant aspects of Kyrgyz culture. Festival participants will get an opportunity to experience traditional Kyrgyz lifestyle and enjoy competitive horse games. The event includes performances by the area’s finest musicians and offers some of the most delicious Kyrgyz meals.
The Festival will feature traditional horse games, including “Ulak Tartysh”, “Kyz-Kuumai”, “Oodarysh”, “Tyiyin-Enmei” and others. During the event, women entrepreneurs will organize an exhibition of local handicrafts.
The “BAI ALAI” Program is financed by the Government of Switzerland and implemented by the consortium of HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation and Aga Khan Foundation. The program aims to improve life conditions of people living in Alai and Chon Alai areas by generating employment among people, particularly for women and youth.
