Kazakh-Austrian business forum held in Vienna

AKIPRESS.COM - IMG_6912_659_438_95 The Kazakh-Austrian business forum "Discovering business opportunities in Kazakhstan", organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Austria with the support of the Federation of Austrian Industries, was held in Vienna on 26 May, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan on May 28.

About 100 representatives of Austrian companies, government and business associations participated in the work of the business forum. Among the honorable guests were members of the Austrian Parliament, led by the second president of Austrian Parliament Mr. Karlheinz Kopf, vice-minister for transport, innovation and technology of Austria Mr. Andreas Reichhardt and other seniors officials.

A keynote speaker at the forum Mr. Yerlan Sagadiyev, Vice-Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan, informed the participants about the opportunities of the Kazakh-Austrian cooperation in the framework of the Plan of the Nation “100 steps”, State Programme for industrial-innovative development of Kazakhstan in 2015-2018, the "Nurly Zhol" program for 2015-2017, investors' support measures and the localization of production.

During the panel discussion, held in the margin of the business forum, Meyram Pshembaev, Member of Mazhilis of the Kazakhstani Parliament - Chairman of the Board, the Union of Machinery Builders of Kazakhstan, Richard Schenz, vice-president of the Economic Chamber of Austria and Assel Yergaziyeva, Deputy Chairman of "KaznexInvest", in an interactive format elaborated on opportunities of doing business in Kazakhstan, the investment climate and why one need to invest in Kazakhstan.

The Vice-Minister Yerlan Sagadiyev met with the Vice-Minister of Economy of Austria Bernadette Gierlinger, during which the parties confirmed their interest in further strengthening and expansion of bilateral cooperation.

In the framework of the forum, KaznexInvest and KapschTrafficCom, Austrian transnational company, have signed a memorandum of cooperation on companies plans to participate in the development of road systems in Kazakhstan. In addition, Vice-Minister Yerlan Sagadiyev met with the leadership of number of leading Austrian companies in the office of the Federation of Austrian Industries.

The forum has revealed a significant interest of Austrian companies in cooperation with Kazakhstan. Besides potential investors, the event has helped to identify the interest of Austrian companies in industrial cooperation with Kazakhstan.

The event has ended by a concert of Kazakh classical music performers - a world-famous violinist Ms. Aida Aupova and a pianist Ms. Gulzhan Uzembaeva, under the project "Pearls of Kazakhstan", implemented by the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Austria with the aim of popularisation of the arts and young artists of Kazakhstan in Europe.
