AKIPRESS.COM - A three-day course was held on identifying and investigating human trafficking cases with participation of 25 police officers and investigators working at airports and railway stations and representing the Transport Department of the Ministry of Interior of Uzbekistan.
The course has been designed to equip participants with the knowledge on addressing and managing the threats of human trafficking, and to protect human lives through enhancing the professional skills of officers responsible for security and transport safety, according to the OSCE Project Coordinator, Gyorgy Szabo.
The course was delivered by UK experts and focused on current practices in major investigative approaches to human trafficking, special investigative techniques and operational experiences, including preparing for a screening interview with a potential victim, as well as methods for collecting supporting evidence.
The training course is part of a long-standing commitment of the OSCE Project Coordinator to assist Uzbekistan in countering the trafficking in human beings.
