AKIPRESS.COM - The CSTO member states are concerned about the return of militants who have gone to fight in Syria and Iraq to their home countries, CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said as he met with Belarusian journalists in Moscow, BelTA has learned.
"No country is immune to terrorist acts, including those that can be organized in retaliation for any statements of politicians," said Nikolai Bordyuzha.
“This is a problem for all of us. There are a lot of nationals of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan among the ISIS and Taliban fighters. These people will return to their home countries and will be ready to take up arms to carry out the orders of their leaders, including those on the political destabilization of the situation in the post-Soviet space,” Bordyuzha noted.
Nikolai Bordyuzha stressed that the CSTO is concerned about the activities of terrorist extremist organizations, including their attempts to expand to Central Asia.
"I mean the return of the militants to their home states. Those who fought in Syria and Iraq have already been detained in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia,” said Nikolai Bordyuzha.
