President of Tajikistan, ADB vice president discuss cooperation issues

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met on March 4 deputy chairman of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Wencai Zhang, the press service of the Tajik president reported.

The sides have discussed activities of ADB in Tajikistan. Mr. Zhang said the ADB is ready continue supporting sustainable economic development of Tajikistan.

The sides reportedly exchanged views on the ADB-Tajikistan Partnership Strategy, which will cover 2016-2020. Rahmon praised ADB’s support.

ADB will provide assistance to Tajikistan in the amount of $20 million in 201 to support development of the private sector, railways, water resources.

ADB's  total assistance to Tajikistan is around $1.3 billion.
