UAE, Uzbekistan discuss cooperation, partnership

AKIPRESS.COM - Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development (MICAD), President of the UAE Committee for Coordination of Foreign Humanitarian Aid, has discussed with Uzbek Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade, Ganiyev Elyar Majidovich, ways to strengthen cooperation ties and partnership between the UAE and Uzbekistan, reports WAM news service.

During the meeting held today at the Ministry, Sheikha Lubna stressed the keenness of the UAE to bolster the cooperation ties and partnership with Uzbekistan, noting that the relations between the two countries "represent a model for cooperation in the light of the directives of the leaders in both countries to enhance them." She referred to huge opportunities in areas of economy, partnership and investments in both countries.

The UAE minister underscored the importance of boosting dialogue mechanisms on international development issues, and redoubling the concerted efforts of international community to address and alleviate the humanitarian crises. She referred to the UAE's international development efforts, and its status in the international development and humanitarian arenas.

On his part, the Uzbek Minister hailed the UAE-Uzbek relations, commending the UAE leadership's vision in backing national economic development. He referred to the international top ranking indexes in which the UAE has been scoring high, given its role in the international development and humanitarian fields. He stressed that his country would continue to activate the partnership and cooperation ties with the UAE.

The meeting was attended by Hazza Al Qahtani, Under-Secretary of the MICAD, Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Under-Secretary of the Ministry for International Development, and the Uzbek delegation.
