Uzbekistan woman killed by her Afghanistan friend in Delhi

AKIPRESS.COM - A 35-year-old Uzbekistan woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her Afghanistani boyfriend at her home in south Delhi's Kalkaji area in the wee hours of Saturday, police said today, reports The Times of India.

Police have arrested Mohammad Raza, 30, on charges of murder and a case has been registered against him at Kalkaji police station.

The deceased has been identified as Maya who worked at a call centre in the city and had rented the place two months ago.

The accused was her colleague and lived in Ashram area. They were in a relationship and Raza used to visit the deceased at her house often, police said.

"Raza had come to meet her on Friday night. They drank together after which they had a heated argument over a personal issue. Later, the accused stabbed her half-a-dozen times in her chest with a kitchen knife.

"The woman's screams were heard by policemen posted outside a polling booth, 100 metres from the house, and they rushed to the house and nabbed Raza while he was trying to flee," said the investing officer.

Maya was rushed to AIIMS trauma centre where she was declared brought dead by doctors.

"The Uzbekistan Embassy has been informed of the alleged murder and they are trying to contact her family," said the office
