Development of Trans-Caspian International Transport Route discussed in Baku

AKIPRESS.COM - railroad kz President of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC Askar Mamin led on January 28  this year’s first working meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) in Baku, the Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan said.

Representatives of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, Turkish State Railways, Azerbaijan Railways LTD, Georgian Railway LLC, International Seaport of Aktau JSC, Baku International Sea Trade Port, Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC, Batumi Sea Port LLC took part in the meeting.

The issues of setting competitive rates for transportation of goods, setting a rate for organization of container transportation of goods across the TITR were addressed at the meeting.

Besides, the sides agreed to take measures on organization of container transportation of goods along the route China-Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey using the new railway Zhezkazgan-Beineu, capacities of the seaport of Aktau and Ahalkalaki-Kars railway which is presently under construction.

President of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC Askar Mamin was reelected as chairman of the TITR Coordination Committee for 2015.

The next meeting of the TITR Coordination Committee is scheduled for March 5-7 this year in Istanbul.
