Dear Friends!

As I conclude my appointment as Ambassador of the United States of America to Uzbekistan, I wish, from the bottom of my heart, to thank the people of Uzbekistan for all your many kindnesses, your warmth and your hospitality extended to me during the nearly three and a half years I have lived and worked with you.

During this time I travelled to all the regions of the Republic and got to know more deeply your many cultures, your ancient and modern history and the natural beauty of your blessed land. Most of all, I will remember with the greatest affection and respect, you, the people of Uzbekistan.

You have done so much over the short years of your independence to build a modern, prosperous and growing state upon your ancient roots. I hope in my own small way while ambassador here, I have been able to deepen the partnership and friendship between our two countries and our peoples. I will never forget Uzbekistan. I will always be a friend of Uzbekistan. Thank you Uzbekistan!

I wish you and your families, peace, prosperity, good health and great success in all you do!
