Afghan and Tajik border officers complete OSCE ‘train-the-trainer’ course

AKIPRESS.COM - 1b0011ed158696670d5ae8c89741707c The graduation of a two-week advanced ‘train-the-trainer’ course for twenty Afghan and Tajik border officers, in the frame of OSCE Patrol Programming and Leadership Project, completed today in Dushanbe.

The course was designed for border officers who had already attended basic patrol leadership course and have an ability to teach and transfer the gained skills to others.

The border police officers learned about modern teaching methodology and how to prepare and deliver training materials in an interactive learner-centered manner. The course also introduced the main components of the training programme development, adult learning theory and models as well as diversity of adult learning contexts.

“The Office in Tajikistan goal is to provide the high quality training, helping improve the capacity building of Afghan and Tajik border guards, and consequently enhance border security”, said Flemming Splidsboel Hansen, Head of the OSCE Office’s Politico-Military Department in Tajikistan.

The ceremony was also attended by senior officials from Tajikistan’s border troops and the representative of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Tajikistan.
