AKIPRESS.COM - Swimmer from Kyrgyzstan Kirill Wais has set a new record of Kyrgyzstan at the FINA Swimming World Championships (25m) in Doha, Qatar.
Kyrgyzstani performed in 50-meter breaststroke. His score is 28.09 seconds, which is a record in Kyrgyzstan.
He took the 45th place among 109 participants.
The same day, Stanislav Karnaukhov performed in 100-meter freestyle final and took 50th place among 152 participants. His result is 50.26 seconds.
The 12th FINA Swimming World Championships (25 metres) kicked off on Wednesday in Doha with the 2014 edition welcoming athletes from 160 different countries.
The five-day event—which takes place in even years—sees 46 events contested, with individual medals up for grabs, as well as 12 relays.
