AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the South African Republic Talgat Kaliyev met with Speaker of the South African National Assembly (lower house of the Parliament) Baleka Mbete, reports the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
Ambassador Kaliyev briefed Speaker Mbete on key points of Kazakhstan’s internal and external policies and prospects of developing Kazakh-South African cooperation. He paid special attention to the recent Address of President Nursultan Nazarbayev “Nurly Zhol – Path to the Future”. Ambassador informed in detail about objectives and missions, set forth by the Head of State in the Address.
Ms.Mbete was interested in social part of the Address, particularly in support for small and medium-sized enterprises, affordable housing and pre-school education.
At request of the Speaker Ambassador Kaliyev elaborated on the Kazakh Parliament’s activity, including in the international arena. The parties underlined the significance of further enhancing inter-parliamentary dialogue. The South-African Parliament’s Speaker backed a proposal to establish a Kazakhstan-South African inter-parliamentary group of friendship.
