Kazakhstanis may now travel Argentina with no visas

AKIPRESS.COM - The agreement signed this summer between Kazakhstan and Argentina to eliminate visa requirements went into effect on November 1, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry told in a statement.

Argentina thus becomes the first Latin American country to enjoy a visa-free regime with the Eurasian nation. Kazakhstan is actively working to ease visa requirements with a number of countries in Latin America and Asia.

In the statement, Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrissov described the agreement between two similar countries in terms of population size and extent of territory as “historic.”

The pact between the two countries was signed in May during Argentine Foreign Minister Hector Timerman’s visit to the Kazakh capital, Astana.

Sixty-two artists from the Symphony Orchestra of Kazakhstan will be the first to benefit from the visa-free agreement when they begin a tour of Argentina in the coming weeks, the statement said.

At around the same time, a large delegation of Argentine entrepreneurs from the agriculture sector is to travel to Kazakhstan to exchange technological knowledge, the Kazakh ministry said.
