AKIPRESS.COM - Regional Financial Center of Almaty has improved its position by 15 steps up in the Global Financial Centers Index 2014 and occupied the 43rd place among 83 international financial centers.
In the regional overview for Eastern Europe - Central Asia, Almaty is the second after Instambul financial center. Then come financial centers of Prague, Warsaw, St. Petersburg, Budapest, Moscow, Tallinn and Athens.
The Global Financial Centers Index (GFCI) was first published by the Z/Yen Group in March 2007. The aim of the GFCI is to examine the major financial centers globally in terms of competitiveness. The GFCI has been published every six months, it provides profiles, ratings and rankings for 75 financial centers drawing on two separate sources of data – instrumental factors (external indices) and responses to an online survey.
