Building collapses killing at least 10 in Thailand

Bishkek (AKIpress) - 0 The death toll from the collapse of a six-story building under construction on the outskirts of Thailand's capital has risen to 10, with at least four more people trapped under the rubble feared dead, three days after the accident, police said on Thursday.

The rescue teams found more bodies of construction workers, one of them a Cambodian, under the building near a local vocational college in Pathum Thani province after the collapse on Monday, Police Maj. Gen. Smithi Mookdasanit said.

Smithi said there were about 30 to 40 workers in the area at the time of the accident and more than 20 people were rescued from the site, the AP reports Thursday.

He said authorities feared that at least four workers who have been trapped under the ruins since Monday are dead.

Police were investigating the cause of the collapse and have arrested four people, including the site's engineer, who will face criminal charges.

Pathum Thani is on the northern outskirts of Bangkok.
