More than 50 enterprises of Tajikistan prove to be unprofitable

AKIPRESS.COM - Financial results of reporting enterprises and organizations for the first quarter of this year have turned out negative and the balance loss over the report period has amounted to 109.7 million somoni ($22.3 million) against the balance profit of 109.4 million somoni ($22.2) for the same period last year, Asia-Plus referred to the Statistics Agency of Tajikistan.

Over the same three-month period, 45.6% of state-run enterprises and organizations have been profitable.

Total profit implemented over the period was reportedly 65.6% of the January-March 2013 level, or 178.6 million somoni ($36.6 million) less.

In January-March 2014, 34.4% of enterprises have been unprofitable. Enterprises in processing industry have reportedly accounted for 43% of the overall number of unprofitable enterprises in the country, construction sector – 32.8%, and transportation, communications and warehousing – 23.9%.
