Women in Business Week starts in Nukus

Bishkek (AKIpress) - The British Embassy in partnership with the Karakalpakstan Branch of the Business Women’s Association of Uzbekistan is hosting the Women in Business Week from 3-5 June 2014. A number of educational activities will be hosted in Nukus with the aim of helping women gain expertise in business. More than 100 women representing small and medium enterprises in Karakalpakstan will participate in the event.

The agenda of the Women in Business Week includes a master-class from one of Britain’s best trainers in business start-ups and management and a round table with women managers working for British companies in Uzbekistan. They will share their experience in building successful professional careers. There will also be training courses on floristry and tailoring of modern clothing and curtains.

On 3 June representatives of the city administration, the Karakalpakstan Branch of the Business Women’s Association and other civic organizations, entrepreneurs and journalists participated in the opening ceremony of the Women in Business Week.
