Bishkek to host second Festival of Education

AKIPRESS.COM - education festival Bishkek will host the second annual Festival of Education on April 26-27.

This year the Festival is aimed to revive interest in technical professions.

The event is organized by the Roza Otunbayeva Initiative in cooperation with the Kyrgyz State Technical University (KSTU), the Ministry of Education and Science, Agency for Vocational Education under the Ministry of Youth, Labor and Migration, City of Bishkek, Christensen Fund and the National Commission for UNESCO in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The first Festival of Education (May 18-19, 2013, also in Bishkek) saw strong interest from visitors, exhibitors and partners in having similar events become a Bishkek tradition.

In light of this and the high demand for technical specialists in the country, a second Festival of Education (April 26-27) was designed emphasizing the development of scientific and technical creativity among children and young people as well as publicizing opportunities in the fields of engineering, vocational and information and communication technology education in Kyrgyzstan. Special attention will also be paid to promoting knowledge and education in the fields of bio-cultural diversity and the dissemination of traditional ecological wisdom, organizers say.
