“Russian Embassy in Astana sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan on April 18. The note emphasizes the absolute inadmissibility of such publications on the territory of Kazakhstan. The note asks to give an adequate official response,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Earlier, it was reported that the Agency for Communications and Information of Kazakhstan sees signs of violation of the legislation in the April issue content of the journal 'Anyz Adam' (Living legend) dedicated to the 125th anniversary of birth of Adolf Hitler.

The journal's April publication in Kazakh language had one of the articles titled as 'Hitler - Fascist Emes' (Hitler – is not a fascist), which has caused a great public resonance.

Agency said that the content of the journal has signs of violation of the Constitution and Laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan on incitement of social, national, ethnic, racial or religious hatred (Art.164 of the Criminal Code). The Agency added that necessary measures to resolve the issue will be taken.

The journal Zhyldyzdar Otbasy Anyz Adam publishes over 25,000 copies. Chief editor of the journal Zharylkap Kalybai is widely known in Kazakhstan after the incident occurred on August 26, 2013 on board of the airline: during the flight, he, being drunk and using foul language, disobeyed the demands of the flight attendants. He then explained the conflict was caused by the fact that the airline staff refused to serve him in Kazakh language.
