Unique heart surgery performed in Pavlodar

AKIPRESS.COM - surgery Leading surgeons from Novosibirsk assisted the doctors from Pavlodar to perform a heart surgery without cut to the chest, the Central Communications Service of Kazakhstan reports Thursday.

The new method of surgeries is now applied in Pavlodar cardio-surgery center. For the first time, the minimally invasive heart surgeries on children were performed in the USA. Later, Chinese surgeons mastered this technique. Over a thousand surgeries of such kind were performed in China. However, specialists from the Novosibirsk Research Institute named after Meshalkin improved this technology.

“The core of the method is that we can avoid artificial circulation of blood and do not have to do big cuts. The cut is no longer than 3 centimeters. Such kind of surgery is less traumatic. Accordingly, a child recovers more quickly after such surgery,” head of the surgical department of the Novosibirsk Research Institute named after Meshalkin Alexander Omelchenko said.

The leading surgeon of Novosibirsk has already performed over a hundred of such surgeries. According to him, this method is the most successful and popular in the world. The most important thing is that it has minimal post-traumatic effect.

About ten surgeries are planned to be performed in Pavlodar cardio-surgical center. Thanks to “Salamatty Kazakhstan” program this technology will soon be widely applied. It is possible due to technical re-equipment of the center and continuous experience exchange with the leading cardiac surgeons.
